Logger Description

It is designed to log 7 channels of single ended  DC voltage, from 0 to 20 volts.

 #    Programmable Parameters are

             1. Channels ( 1 – 7 )

            2. Laps ( 1 – 99 )

            3. Lap Time ( 1 – 99 ) sec. / min. / hr.

            4. Voltage limits ( 1 – 20 Volts )

            5. Date & time of start of test

            6. Name of Test

            7. Vendor names whose batteries are being tested.

and are programmed thru the software supplied alongwith.

#    Ambient temperature is also logged alongwith at each lap, measurement is done through a sensor mounted
      inside the logger.

#    At the Channel Voltage input there is a reverse polarity connection protection also.

#    All the data in the logger is stored in its NVRAM, thus ensuring data retention even in the absence of power.

#    In case the data logging process is incomplete, then the logger resumes logging from the lap no. where

it left.

A multiple number of such loggers may be used simultaneously, because each logger has its unique ID no. for identification.

Once programmed the Logger becomes totally independent of the PC. All the parameters can be viewed on its 16 character x 2 line alphanumeric LCD Display.

All the operations are controlled by three keys - Enter, Select, Esc

On boot up the logger screen displays

  for 2 seconds & then

shows up with the cursor flashing at PGM.

PGM. implies “Program the logger thru the PC”

LOG implies “Log the data”

DNLD. implies “Download the data from the logger into the PC”

Every valid Key key press is acknowledged with an audible beep.

By pressing the Select key cursor can be toggled between the three options ( viz. PGM. LOG  DNLD.)

With the cursor flashing on PGM. If the Enter key is pressed then the logger enters the Program mode & is ready to accept data from the PC & returns back to the previous screen at the end of data transmission.

With the cursor flashing on DNLD. If the Enter key is pressed then the logger enters the Download mode & is ready to send data to the PC & returns back to the previous screen at the end of data transmission.

With the cursor flashing on LOG if Enter key is pressed then the logger enters the Logging mode &

       shows up.

Pressing the Select key toggles between the two options ( VIEW   START )

Pressing Esc. key  returns to the previous screen

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the cursor at View if the Enter key is pressed then

                          shows up

Pressing Select key will display sequentially all the parameters, logger status & data ( if logged )

Pressing Esc. key at any stage in between returns to the previous screen

                         --------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the cursor at START if the Enter key is pressed then

                           shows up

With the cursor at TEST if the Enter key is pressed then the test results are displayed, which may be accessed sequentially by pressing the Select key or may be cancelled at any stage by pressing the Esc. key to return to the above screen.

This facility of displaying the test results helps in confirming that the connections are proper, before commencing the actual test.

                         --------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the cursor at ACTUAL if the Enter key is pressed then the actual logging starts &

                           shows up

and continues till the complete laps are logged. On successful completion a message is displayed & the logger returns to

from where it may be cascaded backwards by pressing the Esc. key

In case of abnormal termination of the logging process, the logger resumes logging from the lap no.
                         where it left.
